Fishpond

Fishpond is an Irish casting platform connecting actors with casting directors and producers — self-tape auditions, portfolios, and casting calls. I built their members' platform at mydashboard.fishpond.ie with Next.js and MySQL.

Context

Beyond its public site, Fishpond needed the actual application: the place where actors maintain profiles and submit auditions, and where casting professionals run searches and manage submissions.

The Challenge

A two-sided platform with genuinely different needs on each side — actors managing profiles, media, and audition submissions; casting professionals running searches and reviewing candidates — built on media-heavy workflows like self-taped auditions.

The Solution

A Next.js application backed by MySQL: membership accounts, actor profiles and portfolios, casting workflows, and audition submission handling, all inside one coherent dashboard.

The Outcome

Actors and casting professionals across Ireland's entertainment industry use the platform to run the audition process end-to-end.
